Non-Toxic and Super Inexpensive All-Purpose Cleaner

I don’t know about you but, with three kids I go through All-Purpose Cleaner like crazy. I basically need a permanent holster on my waist because all I do is spray everything. cleaningThis is not because I’m a clean freak. My kids eat all day long and seem to have a constant stream of crumbs dropping from them. Also, I despise ants in the house so, I’m a spray nazi.

Typical All-Purpose Cleaners are like $4.00 or more a bottle and they’re pretty toxic. Personally, I avoid toxic junk whenever I can (one of my top two fears is getting autoimmune disease, a close second to spiders). And I'd much rather spend that four bucks on an overpriced coffee!

So, I made my own cleaner.

I didn’t do specific calculations but it costs less than 50 cents per bottle and is 100% safe even if your kids spray it on each other (which mine seem to enjoy from time to time).

All you have to do is this:

  1. Get a spray bottle. You can either buy one or re-use and empty one that you already have.
  2. Put in 1.5 cups of white vinegar, fill the rest of the bottle with water. (If you didn't know, vinegar is a fantastic disinfectant. It kills a range of household pathogens. No Clorox needed.)
  3. Drop in as much essential oils as you like. I do about 15 drops of lemon and lavender oils because it smells good.

Done!
